One Christmas Kiss In Notting Hill
By Mandy Baggot

It’s almost Christmas and London is festooned ready for the season Lights are twinkling and everywhere is busy with preparations. Isla Winters not only has the new hospital development project to oversee but she also has  Breekers Construction Christmas party to finalise, and nothing seems to be going right with the catering arrangements in that department. The Christmas party is one of her favourite projects. Every year she would keep the theme a secret until the week before the party. But this year it looked like it was heading for disaster.  The last thing she needed was to be assigned the job of being Chase Bryan’s “Go to Girl”, not a title she liked at all.

Chase Bryan is the New CEO of Breekers International. Handsome with tawny hair and caramel eyes has arrived in London from New York with Plans to demolish Notting Hill and build a Super hotel. This was his chance to prove his worth to his two young daughters Maddie nine and stroppy teenager Brook and who are in tow and not overly impressed to have to spend their holiday in an office block and show his ex-wife he is not the failure she sees him to be.

Beaumont Square Notting Hill is home to Isla and her sister Hannah since the death of their parents in accident in which Hannah was injured to the point where she relies on Ronnie her wheelchair. This is their home, the area where they feel protected and safe and have so many neighbours and friends. Raj the post man who likes to make coffee in Hannah and Islas Kitchen at 5am and who Hannah is in love with but is waiting for Raj to make the first move.  Mrs Edwards and her cat Purdy Well It’s not technically her cat!  With her eagle eye and heightened sense if intuition she would make the ideal candidate for MI5! (You have to read the book to find out why I’m not giving it all away!)  Aaron Islas work colleague is flamboyant with an eye for a handsome guy and always calls Isla “Sugar, Honey, Ice Tea. Denise with her wonky eyebrows and heavy makeup, who only has eyes for Chase,

From the onset you know things are never going to run smoothly for Chase and Isla after all first impressions count don’t they! Chase Bryan is determined Notting Hill is the place for his big Super Hotel Project with zoo and shopping village all together in one big area regardless of the cost to those who live and work there. Isla Winter is not going to let it happen at any cost this is her home the heart of London. Can Isla persuade Chase to change his mind and save her home and community she loves. Can she change Chase’s mind and make him fall for Notting Hill as much as she is falling for him! With the help of Mrs E’s late husband’s Roman Pottery and coin collection and Raj’s connections that you would rather not know about. Will they save Notting Hill from the bulldozers or will Isla have to lay in front of them as she told Chase she would.

Mandy Baggot certainly knows how to craft a story to bring the reader in and make you feel part of the plot. There’s a lots of laugh out loud moments and twists and very much unexpected turns.

I really loved this book it had me spellbound from beginning to end. I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves romantic fiction, you will be swept away by this heart warming story. I personally think this would make a fabulous Christmas film !
